This past weekend I had the pleasure of being the official photographer for the Alabama United Southeast pageant, which is the statewide preliminary to Miss Alabama USA. It was a total blast. I do not think I have done more running around at any event I have ever shot. The Fuji x-pro2 with the Fujinon xf50-140mm f2.8 performed like a dream. I was a bit nervous at first as to whether or not this Fuji gear could hang with the paces I was about to put it through. Rest assured it did and it did with ease. I was more than pleased at the sharpness of the and color from this lens. Shooting from 2pm-10pm at night non stop was accomplished with using the tethertools case relay setup along with a 30,000mah battery pack. It all just worked like a well oiled machine. After the evening was all over with and the group photos were taken and everything was all packed up, it was time to head home to see what gems I had captured. Gems would not be the word I was use, these were more like Diamonds. I was blown away at the images I had captured. This was truly one of the most fun and demanding gigs I have ever shot. I shoot weddings but I honestly can't think of a time where I did more running around than this pageant. What a great gig this was.
